Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.
You may try the following steps and check if it helps.
Note: Make sure the phone is not connected while following the steps below.
Step 1:
Disable Antivirus
If you have installed any third party security software like antivirus or firewall, I would suggest you disable them temporarily and check if it works.
Important Note:Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Step 2: Remove Ghost Devices
Note: Ghost devices are the previously installed devices which are not connected but the drivers for that device is still present in the computer and sometimes shows in the devices list.
To get rid of unwanted drivers, devices, or services, use the following steps:
Open the Start menu.
Type cmd in search box.
Select cmd from the displayed list, right click and Open as administrator.
At the command prompt, type in set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and press Enter.
(Note that nothing seems to happen. This is expected. You are actually setting an environment variable which is going to help you to see hidden devices.)
On the next command prompt line, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. This will launch the Windows Device Manager Console.
In the Device Manager Console, from the View menu, select Show Hidden Devices.
As you expand the different drivers and devices in the device manager, you will see not only the items that Windows currently detects as installed on your PC; but you will also see drivers, devices, and services which have been loaded in the past but were not uninstalled or are not currently started. You can find your offending device, right-click, and choose uninstall to remove it from the system completely.
Note that ghost devices, drivers, and services are “grayed” out, but that does not necessarily mean that you should delete all of them. Only remove items you know you do not need. Be careful that you do not change too many devices.Connect the phone once you are done with these steps and check if it helps. If the issue persists, visit the support website of Samsung and download their software which allows you to connect, sync and transfer data.
Hope this information was helpful.

Note 5 Software Update Failed
Problem:Note 5 said an update was required, and I assumed so, as I haven’t turned the phone on in a couple months. When I would click install update, it would act like it was doing that, then stop at 25%, then go back to the home screen of the phone. I tried this several times, to no avail, and it asked me to hook it up to my computer. Well, it tried, failed, and then said I needed to “repair” the phone, for some reason. Now, it is stuck on a mint green screen SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILED. Then a triangle with an exclamation point inside, then “Your device didn’t update successfully. Use the Verizon Software repair assistant on a computer to repair your device and complete the update. However, the phone is not being recognized by the computer.
Solution: You should try to check if your phone can start in Safe Mode. If you are able to access this mode then I suggest you backup your phone data from here. You can use Kies or Smart Switch to backup your phone data. Take note that you will need to connect your phone using a USB cord to a computer to do this.
Once you have made a backup of your phone data start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. As soon as the reset is complete try to check if you can now update your phone software.
Should the above steps fail to work then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file to your phone. Instructions on how to perform this procedure can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.
Note 5 Error When Updating Software
Problem:I purchased my phone before Christmas and it was running the lollipop version, few months later it said that there are updates available. I tried updating but after downloading 1285 Mbs the download failed and they said there was an error at (0.89Mbs). I decided not to update again until last night, after also downloading 100% the meter kept going for an extra 50Mgs or so and again it failed with a 0.89mgs Any solutions?
Solution: Try to check if the same issue occurs when your phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network. This way you will be able to verify if the connection has something to do with this issue. If the problem still occurs even when your phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network then try doing the update using Kies or Smart Switch. Take note that you will have to connect your phone using a USB cord to a computer with either of the two software mentioned running.
One last troubleshooting step that you can do if the issue persist is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done check for the update again.
Note 5 FRP Lock
Problem: I just bought a Samsung Galaxy Note5 and the FRP its active because this guy he factory reset the device

Another option is to check out the various online sources on how to flash your phone so as to bypass the FRP status of the device.

Solution: Generally, you will not lose the unlock status of the phone if you perform a factory reset or update its software.
